JESUS, REDEEMER OF THE WORLD!

Jesus, Redeemer of the world!\nBefore the earliest dawn of light\nFrom everlasting ages born;\nImmense in glory as in might.\n2. Immortal Hope of all mankind!\nIn whom the Father’s face we see;\nHear thou the prayers thy people pour\nThis day throughout the world to thee.\n3. Remember, O Creator Lord!\nThat in the Virgin’s sacred womb\nThou wast conceived, and of her flesh\nDidst our mortality assume.\n4. This ever-blest recurring day\nIts witness bears, that all alone,\nFrom thy own Father’s bosom forth,\nTo save the world thou camest down.\n5. O day! To which the seas and sky,\nAnd earth and Heav’n, glad welcome sing;\nO day! Which heal’d our misery,\nAnd brought on earth salvation’s King!\n6. We too, O Lord, who have been cleansed\nIn thy own fount of blood divine,\nOffer the tribute of sweet song,\nOn this dear natal day of thine.\n7. O Jesu! Born of Virgin bright,\nImmortal glory be to thee;\nPraise to the Father infinite;\nAnd Holy Ghost eternally.
