O THOU IMMORTAL LIGHT DIVINE

O thou immortal Light divine!\nDread Trinity in Unity!\nAlmighty One! Almighty Trine!\nGive ear to Thy creation’s cry.\n2. Father! In majesty enthron’d!\nThee we confess with Thy dear Son;\nThee, Holy Ghost! Eternal Bond\nOf love, uniting Both in One.\n3. As from the Father increate,\nHis Son and Word eternal came;\nSo, too, from Each the Paraclete\nProceeds, In Deity the same.\n4. Three Persons! - Among whom is none\nGreater in majesty or less;\nIn substance, essence, nature, One;\nEqual in might and holiness.\n5. Three Persons! - One Immensity\nEncircling utmost space and time!\nOne Greatness, Glory, Sanctity,\nOne everlasting Truth sublime!\n6. O Lord, most holy, wise, and just!\nAuthor of nature! God of grace!\nGrant that as now in Thee we trust,\nSo we may see Thee face to face.\n7. Thou art the fount of all that is;\nThou art our origin and end;\nOn Thee alone our future bliss\nAnd perpetuity depend.\n8. Thou solely didst the worlds create,\nSubsisting still by thy decree;\nThou art the light, the glory great,\nAnd prize of all who hope in thee!\n9. To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,\nTriunal Lord of earth and Heaven!\nFrom earth and from the heavenly host\nBe sempiternal glory given.
