CHRIST IS MADE THE SURE FOUNDATION

Christ is made the sure Foundation,\nAnd the precious Corner-stone,\nWho, the two walls underlying,\nBound in each, binds both in one,\nHoly Sion’s help for ever,\nAnd her confidence alone.\n2. All that dedicated city,\nDearly loved by God on high,\nIn exultant jubilation\nPours perpetual melody:\nGod the one, and God the trinal,\nSinging everlastingly.\n3. To this temple, where we call thee,\nCome, O Lord of hosts, today;\nWith thy wonted loving-kindness\nHear thy people as they pray;\nAnd thy fullest benediction\nShed within its walls for ay.\n4. Here vouchsafe to all thy servants\nWhat they supplicate to gain;\nHere to have and hold for ever\nThose good things their prayers obtain,\nAnd hereafter in thy glory\nWith thy blessèd ones to reign.\n5. Laud and honour to the Father;\nLaud and honour to the Son;\nLaud and honour to the Spirit;\nEver three and ever one:\nConsubstantial, co-eternal,\nWhile unending ages run. Amen
